Privacy Policy

Terra Limen is built by Aether Tools. It works without an account. This policy describes what the app keeps on your device and what it requests from the internet.

Information we collect

None. Terra Limen has no account system, no login, and no analytics, and it sends nothing to Aether Tools. We never see your stamps, notes, or usage.

The NOAA feed

For live readings, the app requests three public JSON files from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center at services.swpc.noaa.gov: solar-wind magnetic field, solar-wind plasma, and spacecraft position. It requests them about once a minute while the app is open in the foreground, and when you pull to refresh. It does not refresh in the background.

These are ordinary HTTPS requests. They carry no name, email, account, or advertising identifier. Like any internet request, they reveal your IP address and standard request details to NOAA, which handles that data under its own policies. Your stamps and notes are never sent to NOAA.

Sample mode uses illustrative readings bundled with the app and makes no requests to NOAA.

The Aether Tools promotion

The free version opens with a single screen promoting Aether Tools, once per launch. It is part of the app, not served by an ad network. Nothing about you or your device is used to select it, and showing it sends nothing anywhere. “Explore aethertools.us” opens our website in your browser, and “Report this promotion” opens an email to [email protected].

Terra Limen Pro

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase made through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment and your Apple Account under its own privacy policy, and Aether Tools receives no payment details or personal information. The app checks the purchase with Apple on your device; Restore Purchase, in the Pro sheet and under About, checks it again. There is no subscription and no account with us.

What is stored on your device

The stamps you keep and the notes you write are saved in the app’s private storage, with iOS file protection, and are excluded from iCloud and device backups. They are not uploaded or synced. Deleting the app deletes them.

Sensors and permissions

Terra Limen does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, motion, or HealthKit access. It does not use advertising identifiers.

Analytics and tracking

None. Terra Limen contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics, and no cross-app tracking. Its App Store privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data.

Third parties

Apple distributes the app and processes in-app purchases under its own privacy policy. NOAA SWPC serves the solar-wind data as described above. We do not sell or share personal information, and we hold none to share.

Children

Terra Limen is a general-audience science instrument. It is not directed to children, and it has no accounts or profiles through which personal information could be collected.

Your controls

Delete individual stamps in the archive, or delete the app to remove everything. Terra Limen Pro removes the launch promotion. Sample mode, under About, stops all requests to NOAA. iOS may still check with Apple’s App Store whether Pro is unlocked; Airplane Mode stops all network requests. There is no account to close.
