Is this the real CIA document?
Yes. It is document CIA-RDP96-00788R001700210016-5 from the CIA FOIA Electronic Reading Room (STARGATE collection), dated 9 June 1983, declassified in 2003. It is a work of the United States Government and is in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105.

What happened to page 25?
The page is missing from the CIA's released copy — the version the agency published skips from page 24 to page 26. AetherLane shows that gap as a provenance note between document pages 24 and 26 rather than hiding it or filling it in. The app does not include any third-party "page 25" text. The note credits The Black Vault's FOIA efforts.

Does the app claim any of this is true?
No. AetherLane reproduces and orients you within a historical report. Statements in the document are the report author's, attributed to the report — not asserted by the app. Nothing here is medical, therapeutic, or paranormal advice.

How accurate is the transcription?
The text is machine OCR of the FOIA scans and has not been proofread, so expect errors. Where transcription and scan disagree, the scan is authoritative — you can switch to scan view for any page to compare.

Are there audio sessions, a journal, or purchases?
No. This edition is the document reader only — a File tab and an About tab. There are no audio sessions, no journal, and no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Deleting your data

The app stores only your reading position and view preference. Deleting the app removes them. There is no server and no account to close.
