Data Not Collected. DEAD//AIR has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. We do not collect, sell or share personal information.
Speech recognition runs on the device
DEAD//AIR runs Whisper, a speech recognition model by OpenAI, on your iPhone or iPad through WhisperKit. The noise it listens to and the text it writes are processed on the device. Nothing is sent to us or to OpenAI.
Microphone
The microphone opens only in Room mode or while you hold ASK. While it is open, the whole screen shows a green border. The generated-noise sources (white, pink, brown and sweep) do not use the microphone. You can refuse microphone permission and still use those sources.
Audio and transcripts
Session audio, transcripts, marked lines and your past questions are stored on the device. They leave it only when you export them yourself, for example by sharing a clip through the system share sheet. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
Purchases
The optional one-time unlock is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
Children
The app is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
