MINDPIN AR — PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy
Last updated July 24, 2026
MindPin AR is built by Aether Tools. It works without an account and has no backend — there is no server for your data to be sent to. Given that the app asks for your camera, your microphone, and your photos, this policy is specific about what happens to each.
The short version. No account. No analytics. No ads. No backend. Your anchors, notes, photos, voice memos, and the spatial map of your rooms are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us.
Information we collect
We collect nothing. MindPin AR has no account system, no login, no telemetry, and no server. We never receive your camera feed, your spatial map, your anchors, or any information about how you use the app.
Camera
MindPin AR needs the camera because it is an augmented reality app: ARKit uses the live camera feed to understand the shape of the room and to keep your anchors pinned in place as you move. Those frames are processed on your device, in real time, to compute position and tracking. The app does not record video, does not save camera frames, and does not transmit them anywhere. The camera is active only while you are in an AR view.
The spatial map of your space
To make anchors survive a restart, the app saves each anchor's position and, optionally, an ARKit world map — a mathematical description of visual feature points in your environment used to recognize a room again later. This is a set of geometric features, not photographs, and it is stored locally on your device in the app's own storage. It is not uploaded, not shared, and not readable by us. Because it does describe your physical space, it is worth knowing it exists — which is why it is named here rather than glossed over.
Microphone
The microphone is used only when you explicitly record a voice memo to attach to an anchor. Recordings are saved as files on your device. Nothing is recorded in the background, and no audio is sent off the device — voice memos are stored and played back locally, with no speech recognition or transcription involved.
Photos
Photo library access is used only when you choose a picture to attach to an anchor. The app reads the image you pick and stores a copy in its own on-device storage. It does not scan or index your library, and it does not upload anything.
What is stored on your device
Anchors and their content — text, checklists, reminders and due dates, tags, photos, voice memos — plus each anchor's world transform are stored locally using SwiftData and the app's file storage. Everything stays on the device. If you enable iCloud backup, your device backup is handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not by us; we never see it.
Sensors and data types MindPin AR does not use
MindPin AR does not use location services, contacts, health data, or advertising identifiers. It has no social features, no sharing, and no cross-app tracking.
Analytics and tracking
None. MindPin AR contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-app tracking. We do not know when you open the app.
Third parties
There are none, apart from Apple for App Store distribution and the operating system frameworks the app runs on. We do not sell or share your personal information, because we do not collect it.
Children
MindPin AR is a general-audience productivity tool. It is not directed to children, and we knowingly collect no data from anyone.
Your controls
Camera, microphone, and photo permissions can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. Delete any individual anchor from inside the app, or clear all of them at once. Deleting the app removes all of its on-device data, including any saved world maps. There is no account to close.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
