These terms govern your use of MindPin AR ("the app"), published by Aether Tools ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What this app is. A spatial note-taking tool for iPhone. It pins content you create — notes, photos, voice memos, checklists, reminders — to positions in your physical environment using augmented reality, and stores all of it on your device.
Use it with your eyes up. Augmented reality means moving around while looking at a screen. You are responsible for your own safety and your surroundings while using the app.
Safety while using augmented reality
Do not use MindPin AR while driving, cycling, crossing roads, near stairs or ledges, or anywhere else that a lapse in attention could cause injury. Be mindful of other people, pets, and property around you. Stop if you feel disoriented or unwell.
Your content is stored on your device — this is not a backup service
Everything you create lives locally on your device. We do not host it, we cannot recover it, and we have no copy of it. If you delete the app, reset your device, or lose it, your anchors go with it unless they are covered by a device backup you have arranged yourself. Please do not use MindPin AR as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
AR tracking is best-effort
Anchor persistence depends on ARKit recognizing your environment again, which is affected by lighting, visual texture, and whether the space has changed since you placed the anchor. Anchors may fail to relocalize, or reappear with imperfect position. We make no guarantee that any anchor will be recoverable in any given space. Do not rely on the app for reminders where a miss would matter.
Your content is yours
You retain all rights to the notes, photos, recordings, and other content you create in the app. We claim no license to it, because it never reaches us. You are responsible for having the right to use any content you attach — including photos of, or recordings involving, other people.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to this app except where these terms add to it.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aether Tools will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including lost content or a missed reminder. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
